Telescopic Leachate

Cygnet telescopic leachate abstraction and monitoring shafts are constructed with the landfill and are designed to accommodate the inevitable settlement resulting from progressive bio degradation of the landfill waste mass.

Cygnet utilise Bauku profileen pipe for this application, due to its high profile strength and the natural flexibility of its HDPE construction. The telescopic system overcomes the stresses imposed upon the shaft during waste settlement by the calculated placement of a specific number of HDPE pins which are designed to yield when the gradual but significant axial load is imposed. Diameters range from 300mm and each integrated telescopic unit is 3.5m in length, Shafts will accommodate 30% settlement of the waste mass.
